Description:

The Regional Leadership Team (RLT) Chair is responsible for guiding, facilitating, and delegating tasks to the Regional Leadership Team. The purpose of the Regional Leadership Team is to bring the Association’s mission and vision to life, introduce NACA to non-member colleagues, foster connections between Association members, and promote continual learning and engagement. 

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Leads, facilitates and organizes the work of the regional team. Connects the work of the region to the association’s strategic plan and assures that the association’s mission and vision are reflected in the school and associate member experience by helping to create an inclusive, hospitable environment where everyone feels welcome and connected.
  • Ensures the integration of diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility initiatives throughout regional activities and programs.
  • Liaises between region and national office by sharing updates and best practices and championing the association across all levels.
  • Facilitates and leads the team’s efforts in introducing NACA to colleagues and promoting the association.
  • Strongly encouraged to submit at least one educational program proposal for the conference supported by the RLT (if applicable). 
  • Attends all regularly scheduled regional meetings and conference calls including, but not limited to, monthly RLT Chair calls, biannual leadership team meetings, and regular team lead and all team calls.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned and agreed upon with volunteer supervisor and/or NACA staff liaison.

 

Qualifications/Expectations:

  • Supports NACA programs through attendance whenever possible.
  • Attends conference supported by the RLT (if applicable).
  • Must be a part time (50%) or full-time professional staff member at a NACA member institution.
  • Must have approval from and support of their institution (note: support is defined as financial as well as time out of the office, etc.).
  • If the volunteer changes jobs during the position’s term, the new school must also be a NACA member and provide a statement of support. The NACA Volunteer Development Manager must be informed of this change within two weeks and the new letter of support must be received at the NACA Office within 30 days of transition.
